Blames himself for losing his wife but believes she's still alive somewhere. Although he fears that drawing on his powers will corrupt him somehow, it makes him feel closer to his wife, and he believes he must master them if he's ever to locate and rescue her. He tends to give vague explanations for his current situation, uncomfortable talking about the details. He slips in and out of denial, sometimes talking about his wife as if she were waiting for him at home.

Erchelian lived normal, peaceful life with his wife for many years until fate forced him to call out to the darker powers for aid. He was bound, helpless as he watched his wife assaulted and carried off to be used and abused. His cry of "Give me the power to save my wife, I'll do anything" summoned a demon to possess his body and murder their attackers horribly. Unfortunately the price was his wife, whom the demon took from him as it vacated his body, leaving the infernal powers behind.
